The benefits of using the qualified digital signature request in iManage Work, allows you after finalising a document, to request the signature from various parties in a simple way, without leaving iManage Work. Overall, however, qualified digital signatures have the following benefits compared to handwritten signatures:

  1. Authenticity: Qualified digital signature is a secure form of authentication, allowing parties involved in an electronic transaction to be sure that the signatory's identity is authentic.
  2. Integrity: Qualified digital signature guarantees that the electronically signed document has not been altered since it was signed. If the document is altered after signing, the signature is invalidated.
  3. Non-Repudiation: A qualified digital signature prevents the signatory from denying having signed the document. This is especially useful in legal or financial transactions.
  4. Time and Resource Saving: A qualified digital signature is a fast and efficient way to sign documents, allowing the parties involved to save time and resources by avoiding the need to print, manually sign and physically send, or even travel to a location in person.
  5. Regulatory compliance: Qualified digital signature is recognised as a legally valid form of signature in many countries and sectors, in which Portugal and European union members fall under, allowing parties involved in an electronic transaction to comply with local and international regulations.
  6. Security: Qualified digital signature is a secure form of electronic signature, as it uses advanced cryptographic technologies to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and non-repudiation of the signed document. This is especially important in transactions involving confidential or sensitive information.
